It belongs to C. chinense, the species behind the world's hottest peppers — the group that includes habaneros, Scotch bonnets, and ghost peppers, prized for fruity aroma and a slow, lingering burn. Immature pods are green/mustard before ripening. The plant grows to 30–36 inches tall. It is also known as Jabba the Hut.
