Further InformationEdit Edit

A C. chinense variety. Ripens to red, habanero-type pods with wrinkled skin skin. Packs 400,000–1,000,000 SHU (extremely hot, in superhot territory). Roots trace to Trinidad & Tobago. The 7 Pot lineage from Trinidad has produced more superhot variants than probably any other pepper family. Also listed as 7 Pot Lava Red.

How hot is the 7 Pot Lava?

The 7 Pot Lava measures 400,000–1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), making it a superhot pepper — roughly 130 times hotter than a jalapeño (which tops out around 8,000 SHU).
