Rocoto Puno Pica

It belongs to C. pubescens, the rocoto and manzano group — cold-tolerant plants with hairy leaves, thick flesh, and distinctive black seeds. Its pods ripen orange, take an apple/blunt bell form, measure 2–3 inches long, with thick flesh, and grow pendant on the plant. The plant grows to > 48 inches tall. Its flowers are purple/violet, its foliage is hairy leaves. Notable traits include matte/powdery. It is recorded as originating in Peru / Bolivia.
