Aji Dulce

The classic sweet/aromatic C. chinense of Venezuela and the Caribbean. "Ají Dulce" literally means "sweet pepper." Lantern-shaped pods, habanero aroma, fruity and tropical in flavor — with essentially no capsaicin heat (0–1,000 SHU). Staple ingredient in Latin Caribbean cooking for sofrito and seasoning. Note: not to be confused with the hot Peruvian Aji Amarillo or Aji Rojo (C. baccatum, 30k-70k SHU).
