Further InformationEdit Edit

A hot C. chinense habanero from Belize (Central America), collected from a Punta Gorda area farmer. Despite the "Sweet" in the name, this is a full-heat habanero at 100,000–350,000 SHU — "Sweet" refers to the fruity, floral flavor character of habaneros, not a lack of heat. Black-colored pods. This is NOT a heatless habanero selection; it is rated "Extremely Hot" by commercial seed sources.

The Belize Sweet Habanero measures 100,000–350,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), making it a very hot pepper — roughly 45 times hotter than a jalapeño (which tops out around 8,000 SHU).
