Mexican Peppers
By recorded region of origin
Mexico is where C. annuum was domesticated, and it still grows more distinct chile types than any other country: jalapeño, serrano, poblano, chilaca, guajillo, árbol, the habanero of the Yucatán, chiltepín in the north. Many carry two names, one fresh and one dried. A poblano and an ancho are the same pepper.
