Further InformationEdit Edit

A dark twist on the Brazilian biquinho. Small teardrop pods start deep purple-black and finish a glossy red-black, on a compact, heavy-setting plant with dark foliage and stems. Mild at 500-1,000 SHU, with a rich, smoky-sweet flavour rather than burn. Used for pickling, as a cocktail garnish, and in salads and sauces. Source: Red Dragon Seeds listing.

How hot is the Black Biquinho?

The Black Biquinho measures 500–1,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), making it a mild pepper — milder than a jalapeño.
