The Malawi Picante is a hot chili of the species C. baccatum, measuring 50,000–100,000 SHU — roughly 13× hotter than a jalapeño. It belongs to C. baccatum, the South American "ají" species, known for tall plants and bright, fruity, often citrusy flavor.
