The Naraka Variegated is a medium-heat chili of the species C. annuum, measuring 1,000–2,000 SHU — milder than a jalapeño. It belongs to C. annuum, the most widely cultivated pepper species, spanning everything from sweet bell peppers to jalapeños, cayennes, and poblanos. Its pods ripen red, take a long/tapered form, with medium thick flesh, and grow pendant on the plant. The plant grows to 24–30 inches tall. Its flowers are solid white/cream, its foliage is green & white. Notable traits include variegated. It is recorded as originating in Mexico. It is also known as VSRP Poblano.
